Make your own flowers!

And here I am back to give a fabulous (HAHA!) tutorial on how I made my "homemade" flowers!

First here is a close up of my flowers:
Just click on the pick for a real good close up.

Now for the deets!

Start off with a circular shaped piece of DP around 3-5" big (depends on how big  you want to make your flowers)
I like to use DP cause it is nice and thick and I use one that is patterned on both sides preferably with a lighter and darker side. I find it creates depth.
Now run it through a paper crimper to break it down a bit and soften the cardstock. Go in a few directions.
Now take the circle and cut it into a spiral shape.
Now curl it up starting from the outside and roll into the center.

Place a large glue dot in the center of the very center.

Use tweezers to press the tip of the section you began rolling up first. How tight you roll your flower is up to you and how the finished flower looks will depend on how tight it is. Tighter flowers look more like buds. How many "rings" there are will also change the look of the flower.

Sponge the edges if you want.

Now press and bend and crumple up the edges to make it look like curled petals. I just kinda use the palm of my hand to "cram" it down a bit.

I use cheap clear glue, spread a few drops in the center of the flower and pour micro beads (could also use reg beads, pearls, etc.) into the center, pour off the excess and let it dry.

I use a MS small rose leaf punch (would love a larger one if anyone knows where I can order one!) to punch out leaf shapes.

I use an embossing stylus to create a vein down the center of the leaf so I can bend it easily. Bend the leaf towards the embossed side.

Use a dark color, I used smokey plum by CTMH, to sponge the center and edges of the leaf. EWWWW! My nail looks like I have dirt under it but I promise you it is hair color! I should use gloves! Could be ink too! Never know with me, it is always something creative stuck to my hands!

Now curl the leaf back so that it is bent in towards the sponged side and it creates a raised vein effect.

And here is the finished flower! Here is another close up of some of the flowers on my Tilda card. As you can see, I curled the edges in on the orange flower and out on the Tilda flower which also changes the look.

I hope you enjoyed the tutorial! I love making these roses and the possibilities are limited only by your imagination!

My third Chocolate Tilda

I call this my creamy cocoa mint Tilda! he he!
You can enter one per week and this is my third and I will probably search for some challenges it might fit. I am for sure entering it at Totally Tilda Challenges cause heck, that is what I made it for! I also used the Friday Sketchers sketch too so I will enter there as well for a second entry.

Here is my Creamy Cocoa Mint Tilda:
I think I am still withing the dash of color limits, I hope!
And here is a close up so you can see the glitter on her dress but also I wanted to point out the GORGEOUS paper I stamped her on. I believe it is called NEENA SOLAR WHITE, which I purchased from the paper temptress. It worked beautifully with the copics and it has this super smooth texture and it has micro glitter in it. It is absolutely wonderful to work with and is so pretty. I will have to ask Patricia if that is the paper I used to confirm it.
Here is the close up:
I sure hope you can see it.

Chocolate Tilda!

I decided to make another entry card for the Totally Tilda challenge blog. Suzie was sweet enough to ok my last entry even though she thought there was a little too much color. I am endeavoring to impress with my much more chocolaty card! HE HE! I hope this one doesn't have too much color in it. I also used the sketch from Friday Sketchers. I am also entering it over at Magnolia Down under (sweet). I thought with my chocolate theme it might fit. I also noticed that one of the DT cards did not have any desserts on it so I think I am OK as this little flower girl is pretty sweet herself too!

Here is a close up of her glittery dress and shoes and all the glittery diamonds I glued by hand onto the points of the diecut  section of the image.
I just might enter a few more challenges if I can find some that fit!
Found some!
corrosive challenges = lots of flowers.
Pile it on = do something to your paper (I distressed it to death! haha!)
ABC challenges = add x-tra dimension (I have so many layers of paper here I hope that counts I also distressed and rolled the edges of the paper to add dimension too)

The Secret Garden

A friend gave me this Tilda stamp and I don't know what she is called but I right away thought of a key to a secret garden.
I used crystal effects on the hair and key to gloss it up and make it look 3-d.
I made my own glitter spray like the Tattered angels but I used some pearl Effects by Ranger and mixed it with hairspray to make my own! It was hard to get a good picture but I think you can see it in this one
and here is a view of the inside of the card.
I am entering this at the Totally Tilda Challenges where the theme is chocolate, I think it qualifies with all the browns and creams.

Berry Best Teacher

I made this card for my son's teacher for her end of the year gift.

I found this strawberry shortcake coloring page and cleaned it up in photoshop a bit. I colored her with copics and prismacolor pencils.

I glossed up the watering can with some crystal effects to make it look shiny.
On the inside it says "You're the berry best!"
She loved it!
Here are the challenges I am entering:

Basic grey = photo inspiration
creative inspirations = paper piecing (I pieced my background together with scrap pieces, I think that qualifies.)

Lexis creations = use something old. My ribbon is from costco 3yrs ago and old paper scraps from another unfinished card! hehe!
Practical scrappers = use flowers
Ka wink e dink fruit smoothie
corrosive challenges = lots of flowers. (there is a paper one and some in my image, not sure if that is lots but it is more than one! HA HA!)
